Three Weekends of Author Events Begin with Montebello Artfest

After a busy start to the year, things were quiet for a little while. That pause turned out to be a good thing. Sometimes you need a few slower weeks to regroup, reflect, and prepare for the next round of events.

That next stretch begins this Saturday. I’ll be kicking things off at the Montebello Artfest, where I’ll be setting up a table and signing copies of my books, including The Late Hour: Stories for the Insomniac series and my standalone novel Confessions. The event is a great chance for readers to meet local authors, discover independent books, and connect with community artists.

The Artfest will be the first of three weekends in a row of book events, followed by two additional book fairs where I’ll meet readers, share stories, and discuss the inspiration behind my work.

Every event feels a little different. Sometimes it’s a quick conversation with someone passing by the table. Other times it turns into a longer discussion about writing, storytelling, or the themes behind the books. What I always hope for is the same thing: to reach new readers and connect with people who might see something of themselves in the stories.

Just as important is meeting other writers who are out there doing the same thing—creating, writing, and showing up for their work.

There’s something grounding about attending book fairs and author events. You never quite know whom you’ll meet or what conversations might happen.

If you’re planning to attend the Montebello Artfest, feel free to stop by and say hello.

Here’s to the next three weekends of meeting readers and sharing stories.
